rise above trials

recently, i've been listening to radio station 107FM every weekday night... at about 10.30pm, a short sharing will be broadcast by Trinity Christian Church pastors... it's really good and not very "heavy" or informative...

(from here onwards, it's not from me but from what i hear...)

today, the sharing topic is:

Raising Above the Trials of Your Life

in the book of James 1:2-4, it read

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

notice that the bible did not mention "...if you face trials..." but "...whenever you face trials..." it proves that no one escape from trials. and face means fall into... moreover, trials come unexpectedly.

2 winning mindset:

1) understand your faith can grow when you face trials
in any trials you face, faith is tested.

2) character will grow through trials.
perseverance is developed when faced trials. it has to be done so that you may be mature and complete... the word "mature" is used... it means Spiritual adulthood. God wants us to be like Him. it is His desire.

in conclusion, we cannot control the trials that came and are coming but we can control our choices... so let us all rise above trials and perserver in God... He will be always faithful...

long time no see

a special birthday for a special boy!

 the day i anticipated eagerly was finally here. i brought Jos out after awaiting for this opportunity since months ago. just needed time and space to spend with him because we've got so much to talk about, and believe me, you can talk to him like an adult. and since it was his birthday, i took the opportunity to seek permission to take him out for a breather.   i met him early the morning and brought him out for breakfast first. Kopitiam's half-boiled eggs, siew mai and hot breverages.    we then set off the our destination. it was a surprise for him so i didnt reveal our directions or alighting point. he just followed obediently.   and then, before we knew, we found ourselves 15 levels above ground. :) i took him on a journey to see life from a different perspective. and we were looking down from a bird's eye view.   cheese! so many things we can see from the top. it was just a very different experience.   not ...

time please dont fly

as time flies, people grows bigger and older... well, at times, how we wished that we could stop time and admire or appreciate people dearest to you... and as parents, i believe you all feel the same as me too... hoping that the child you are carrying in your arms will always be in your arms and not to grow up... but we cant... and here goes my boy i knew since he was k1 (2004)... i never fail to attend his birthday party he invited every year... i've seen him grow since then... and i meant it... grow, Grow, GROW!!! and today, i saw him with his sister in the library... haha... and as usual, i would cover his eyes from the back and asked "wo shi sei?" which means who am i... and without failing, he would guessed it, let alone today... haha... look at his belly... haha~ =p so, by looking at the next photo, hasnt he grew? that's him in 2004... well? . . . . . . . . haiz... one more week left of school... not that i wont have any more income, you think i care? i know ...
